ESSENE YOUTH ASSEMBLY SWEARS-IN EXCO: We shall Protect Government Facilities - President

Barr. Ogenyi Adadu, administering the oath of office on the EXCO of EYA

The President and Executive members of an Ikot Abasi based Non Governmental Organisation; Essene Youth Assembly (EYA)has been sworn into office.
While administering the oath of office on the officers, at the Civic Centre Essene, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Barr. Ogenyi Adadu charged them to abide by the constitution of the organisation and the law of the land. He called on them to ensure they don't fall short of w hat is expected of them.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman, Essene town Council, Chief Celestine B. Esoh, called on all to remain law abiding and remain united, maintaining that only when they unite and work together, will they experience meaningful development, he stated that the Essene town Council will continue to attract and  initiate people oriented policies while urging  youths to take advantage of government programmes, advising then to indulge in vocational trade, with a view to being self reliant. 

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in President of EYA, Mr. Uwem Inyang Umoren, speaking on behalf of the group, said he was grateful to the Elders, members of the group and the entire people of Essene, for giving him the opportunity to serve them, describing himself, officers and members of the group as the "People’s servant."

"The Essene Youth Assembly is focused on promoting unity, peace and understanding amongst youth and Elders , in order to attract development to our community and also to ensure the protection of Government facilities from vandalization" he said. 

Mr. Nicholas also disclosed his plan to sensitize the youths against involving in political thuggery, amongst other social vices. The President who used the opportunity to thank the Village head of Essene and Clan Head of Ikpa Nnung As sang, Essene town Council, Chiefs Essene group of villages, Women, Past and present Youth Leaders, also solicited for their support and guidance. He also pledged to remain law abiding and discharge his duties within the confines of the constitution of the organization.

Those sworn-in, include; Imoh Richard Esoh, Vice President; Ubong Donatus Essien, Secretary General; Emmanuel James Kanico, Assistant Secretary General; Charles Eventus Ikart, P.R.O. I; Sunday Akpan Ekwere, P.R.O. II; Dorathy Anthony Ekanem, treasurer; Donatus Peter Akpan, Financial Secretary and Eteyen Udo Etofia, Director of Works I.

Others are; Mfonobong Dick Umosen, Director for works II; Mfon Jimmy Nta, Welfare officer I; Imo Emmanuel  Nwa, Welfare officer II; Ekwere Donald Essien, Director of Socials/Publicity; Victor Celestine Inokon, Director of sports; Regina Akpan, women leader; Archibong Ekanem, Auditor and Itoro Donatus Udonkim, Director of Discipline. 

The event was also witnessed by; the Youth Development Officer, Ikot Abasi, Mr.Godwin J. Akpan; the Councillor representing, Ikpa Nnung Assang ward I, Hon. Joseph Idiong, Village heads, women and youths from the community.
