SALES OF FAKE ITEMS DRAG DOWN OUR ECONOMY- Ekong

As part of the efforts to change the economic landscape of Akwa Ibom State, The Managing Director, Leastpay Group Limited Capt. Iniobong Ekong (rtd) has called on investors to have quality service delivery as philosophy behind every business endeavour.

Ekong who gave the charge Friday while interacting with journalists at Leastpay complex Uyo, said the practice of distributing fake items to members of the public is rather dragging back the economy and engenders lives.

Commenting on both economic and health implications of fake drugs for instance, Ekong who disclosed that he went into pharmaceuticals business as a measure to save as many as he could from sad consequences of fake drugs seriously condermed sales of fake and sub-standard drugs as these, according to him can either kill or pose economic setbacks to the rural populace.

Apart from running the pharmaceutical shop for business purposes, Ekong said he also use it as means of charity as he has a yearly routine of visiting the rural areas and motherless baby homes for distribution of drugs and other relief items.

The shopping complex which is enriched with an electronic and appliances outlet, gym and wellness centre as well as a dry-cleaning unit, has according to Ekong provided employment to not less than 70 individuals.
