"Mr Okon Ideh owns a cement shop and he has a close relationship with the suspect's step dad, so what we gather from him is that he visited the man's shop on the 31 January and saw a huge sum of money in his drawer, he left and went back to the shop to trick the man to their house with claims that the step dad's business associate needed 50bags of cement, but requires him to pick up the cash immediately from their house before delivering the goods".
"On getting there, he tried to kill the man who was rescued by intervention of neighbours who heard screams from the apartment. The man had already collapse before rescue could come, but fortunately, he was revived at the hospital and is recovering. His intention was to kill the man and go over to his shop to steal the money he saw when he visited". He narrated.
Although some tatoos on the suspect's body could not be associated with cultism, as he claimed to have used cashew seeds for fashion purposes, Ideba suspected involvement with wrong groups that could embolden a teenage Mind to contemplate murder.
He therefore promised to transfer the case to appropriate sister agency saddled with the responsibility of handling such cases to ensure justice.
When interrogated, the Suspected who admitted to the crime said he needed to kill the man so as to be free to get N10,000(ten thousand naira) from his shop to pay transport back to Adamawa state, where he can re-unite with his family as he did not wish to put more financial burden on his mother
